District 211 College/Career Night Oct. 19
The 2011-2012 District 211 College Night program, “Choose Your Path …,” will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at James B. Conant High School, 700 E. Cougar Trail in Hoffman Estates.
More than 200 representatives from two- and four-year colleges and military academies will provide curriculum and campus information. College Night is open to all District 211 students and their parents.
“College Night is a wonderful opportunity for students and their parents to explore many different colleges all in one place,” said Conant High School College and Career consultant Kimberleigh Wiley.
“This is a perfect time to speak with admissions representatives, especially if you will not get a chance to visit the colleges you are interested in.”
Up to 20 popular colleges will host separate 30-minute presentations, and An NCAA compliance officer from a Division III college will conduct two presentations in the auditorium, covering registration for the NCAA Clearinghouse, the eligibility process, and recruiting legalities.
Wiley added that two, 30-minute sessions will be held in the auditorium focusing on the selective college admissions process.
Free, round-trip shuttle bus service will be provided from District 211 schools to Conant High School. Parents are asked to take advantage of the shuttle buses, since parking is limited at Conant.
