Mundelein High projects win Illinois PR awards

Mundelein High School recently received seven awards from the Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association.

The prizes were delivered at a Sept. 23 luncheon in Oak Brook. A panel of group members from other states judged the contest.

Communications instructor Kent Meister received an award for a “Retirees” video he produced that was given to all the staff members who retired at the close of the last school year.

Assistant Principal James Ongtengco earned an award for a prom safety video shown to students before last spring’s prom.

Five Mundelein High School publications also earned awards. Honored were:

Ÿ “The Messenger,” the district newsletter.

Ÿ “The Grapevine,” the employee newsletter.

Ÿ The 2011 graduation program.

Ÿ A fine arts calendar.

Ÿ And the 50th Celebration memory book.

Communications Director Ron Girard edited the publications. Mundelein High senior Kadeem Williams and alumna Wendy Cordts assisted on the memory book.
