Senior flu shots at Advocate Good Shepherd

Submitted by Good Shepherd Hospital

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital will conduct a community flu shot clinic for seniors and other adults. There is no cost to those with original Medicare Part B. You must bring your card. Otherwise, the cost is $25.

Influenza illness and death are significant safety concerns. Annually, in the United States, influenza affects more than 20 percent of the population and causes approximately 50,000 deaths. Studies indicate that flu shots in health care workers can prevent transmission of influenza and save lives, resulting in as many as 40 percent fewer deaths.

The flu shot clinic will be from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 14 in the Lakeview Room at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, 450 W. Route 22, Barrington.

To register for an appointment, call the Flu Shot Hotline at (800) 995-4267 or visit www.advocatehealth.com/gshep.
