Foundation to host Ryan’s Run 5K in Vernon Hills

The Ryan Briere Foundation announces its first Ryan’s Run 5K Run/Walk Sunday, Sept. 18, at Century Park North, 1401 Indianwood Drive, Vernon Hills.

Race packets should be picked up Sunday, Sept. 17, at Running Away, 800 Waukegan Road, Deerfield; (847) 945-2929. On-site registration begins at 8 a.m. and the run/walk follows at 9 a.m. Strollers are welcome.

Families will also enjoy activities in addition to the run/walk, including a kiddie sprint, Magic by Randy, songs with Joel Frankel, a balloon artist, inflatable bounce house, face painting and Kid Snips. The event will be emceed by Lou Loiben of Personalities, Inc.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the teachers at Goddard School in Vernon Hills. The Ryan Briere Foundation will set up a donation to be used by the teachers of The Goddard School for continuing education. The foundation also supports various other children’s charities.
