Hickory Willow Swim finishes third at state meet
What another spectacular Age Group Championship!
For the third time, Hickory Willow Swim Association finished in third place. This year’s meet was held July 28-31 in Kenosha, Wis., where more than 800 athletes from all over Illinois competed.
HWSA had state champions in two events. Trevor Winans for the 13-14 boys 1,500 freestyle and the 13-14 boys 800 free relay team, which included Nick Amendola, Patrick Bieszke, Zack Amendola and Trevor Winans. HWSA also finished in the top eight in more than 40 events and many team records were broken.
Hickory Willow swims at Conant High School in Hoffman Estates and at Stagg High School in Palos Hills. The Conant High School site services the communities of Palatine, Schaumburg, Inverness, Rolling Meadows, Hoffman Estates, Elk Grove Village, Itasca, Roselle, Bloomingdale and neighboring cities. Registration for the upcoming season will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Conant High School, 700 East Cougar Trail, entrance No. 5.
Hickory Willow also offers a two-week trial for $40. Returning swimmers may register in person or online at www.hwsadolphins.org.
