Mundelein High to host college planning program

Parents and guardians of Mundelein High School seniors are invited to attend an upcoming college planning program.

The event is set for 7-9 p.m. Sept. 1, in the school auditorium, 1350 W. Hawley St.

The program will focus on the planning involved in preparing seniors for their college application process, as well as the decision-making needed for life after high school.

Joe Tullo, Mundelein High college and career counselor, will conduct the evening’s activities. Tullo also will distribute senior planning booklets to those in attendance.

Jared Goulding, assistant director of admissions at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind., will serve as the guest speaker. He will speak about selective college admissions and application tips.

Topics to be covered include:

Ÿ Scheduling appointments.

Ÿ Reviewing the college planning handbook.

Ÿ Meeting with college representatives.

Ÿ Making college visitations.

Ÿ Applying to college.

Ÿ Looking for scholarships and getting recommendations.

Ÿ The registration process.
