Lake Forest wins at Bittersweet
Joe Willis fired a winning 73, a stroke better than teammate Matt Garrity, leading Lake Forest’s boys golf team to the championship of the Warren invitational at Bittersweet Golf Club on Saturday.
Lake Forest shot a 304, while Mundelein (316) edged Highland Park (318) for runner-up honors. Deerfield (325), Carmel (328) and host Warren (329) finished fourth, fifth and sixth.
Mundelein was led by Grant Heelan (77, tie for third), Derek Parola (78) and Dave Krueger (79). Brady Witt’s 82 accounted for the Mustangs’ fourth score.
Warren’s Jimmy Tukowski also fired a 77.
Carmel’s Brian Miller shot a 79 and teammate Mike Wilkinson had an 80.
