Artistry in Motion holds dance auditions Sept. 10, 22

The Des Plaines School of Dance in-house dance company, Artistry in Motion, will hold auditions for company members in second to 12th grade on Sept. 10 and Sept. 22.

On Saturday, Sept. 10, dancers in grades two-four can audition for Company 4 (Petite Dancers) from 3 to 4:30 p.m., and dancers in fifth to seventh grade can audition for Company 3 (Junior Dancers) from 4:30 to 6 p.m., in the Prairie Lakes Theater, 515 East Thacker St.

On Thursday, Sept. 22, dancers in eighth and ninth grade can audition for Company 2 (Intermediate Dancers) from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the Prairie Lakes Aerobics Studio, and dancers in 10th to 12th grade can audition for Company 4 (Senior Dancers) from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in the Leisure Center Dance Studio, 2222 Birch St.

Artistry in Motion is a high energy, emerging dance company that performs twice a year, a Fall and a Spring Dance Concert, in the Prairie Lakes Theatre, as well as in competition, and at local venues. Pieces are set by Artistic Director, Laura Chiuve, a member of Chicago Tap Theatre, as well as School of Dance working professional dancers and choreographers. Their first performance of the season will be at the annual Winter Spectacular at the Prairie Lakes theater on Dec. 16 and 17.
