Benchmark exams for incoming Stevenson freshmen Aug. 11

Benchmark exams for incoming Stevenson High School freshmen who did not take them in January or May will be given on Thursday, August 11.

Benchmark exams are given in English, mathematics and world languages (Spanish and French) to determine course placement at Stevenson. The English and mathematics tests are one hour each, while the world languages tests are 90 minutes.

Testing begins at 8 a.m. with mathematics, followed by English at 9 a.m. World languages testing will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Testing will be held in the West Building.

All students will need to bring No. 2 pencils to the tests. Calculators are allowed on portions of the mathematics exam. Students should bring reading materials in case they finish their tests early.

For more information on the benchmark examinations, contact Monika Kiefer in the Teaching and Learning Office at 847-415-4200 or visit www.d125.org/ curriculum/benchmark_exams.aspx.
