Antonijevic nets honors

The Pepperdine recruit and Greg Petty of Downers Grove North were the only first-team selections from Illinois. Four others made the second team.

Antonijevic, who played outside hitter for the Patriots this season, also has been named to the 2011 boys youth national team by USA Volleyball. The team will represent the United States at the boys youth Pan American Cup July 9-17 in Mexico, and at the 2011 FIVB boys youth (U-19) World Championship August 19-28 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Antonijevic was a member of last year’s team, which won silver at the NORCECA boys youth (U-19) Continental Championships in Mexico. The 6-foot-8 Antonijevic is one of two players from Illinois on the team. The other is Petty.
