Kat Dickson recorded her school-record 11th shutout in goal, and Grayslake Central’s girls soccer team kept its Fox Valley Conference championship hopes alive with a 2-0 win over Johnsburg on Tuesday night.

Skyler Jessop scored her ninth goal of the season for the Rams, who improved to 12-2 overall and 8-2 in the FVC. They have two conference games remaining. Prairie Ridge sits in first place in the FVC.

Alex Wilson also scored for Grayslake Central, with Allie Black earning the assist. Dickson made 3 saves between the pipes.

“The girls played very good all night tonight,” Rams coach Mike McCaulou said. “We created some great chances in front of goal and could have made it easier on ourselves in the first half. But I was pleased with the ball movement all game. The girls have worked so hard to put themselves in a good place to win the conference and be prepared for postseason play.”

Mundelein 4, Zion-Benton 0: Ashley Begrowicz scored twice, and the Mustangs got additional tallies from Kaila Cancelli and Abbey Ekstrom in the North Suburban Lake contest.

Stephanie Johnson added a pair of assists for Mundelein (11-6-3, 7-2-2), which led 3-0 at the half. Melanie Swager recorded the shutout in goal.
