Native American performer William Buchholtz, known as “Conquering Bear,” performs Native American flute music and tells stories for all ages at the Round Lake Area Public Library.

Ed Holstein

Legendary Chicago folk musician and songwriter Ed Holstein performs in concert at the Lisle Public Library. Along with being a guitar and banjo player, Holstein is a comedian and storyteller. His songs have been performed by artists such as Bette Midler, Steve Goodman and Bonnie Koloc.

Orchestra's open house

The Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra hosts its annual open house for prospective musicians. Guests can meet current orchestra members, staff and musical conductors as well as attend an orchestra rehearsal and a free chamber music concert. Auditions for the orchestra will take place from Wednesday to Sunday, June 1-5.

‘Pride and Prejudice'

The Marriott Chicago O'Hare hosts the Dollhouse Miniatures Show & Sale. More than 200 dealers from 32 states and 19 countries will showcase dollhouses, dollhouse accessories and a special room just for dolls.

‘Lilac Fox Trot' Social Dance

The Chicago-area chapter of the USA Dance group hosts its “Lilac Fox Trot” Social Dance for its members and the public on Saturday, April 9. An American-style fox trot dance lesson will be offered from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. Social dancing (with mixers) runs from 8:15 to 11 p.m.
