Cary chamber sets candidate forums

The Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce will host two candidate forums for local voters in Cary and Fox River Grove. Both communities have candidates running for contested seats for village board trustee positions in the April 5 election.

The Fox River Grove “Meet the Candidates Forum” will be at 7 p.m. Monday, March 21, at the Fox River Grove village hall, 305 Illinois St.

Presentations will be made by Joanna Colletti, John Gagliano, Steve Knar, Chester Olencheck and Michael Schiestel. The candidates are running for three openings for a 4-year term on the village board. Presentations also will be made by Suzanne Blohm and Michael Olencheck, running for one opening for a 2-year term on the village board.

The “Meet the Candidates Forum” for Cary Village Trustee candidates will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the Cary Park District Community Room, 255 Briargate Road. Presentations will be made by Robert Bragg, Barbara Hill, Bruce Kaplan, Karen Lukasik, Deb McNamee, Al Pilli and Frank Steckelberg, all running for three openings for a 4-year term on the village board.

Presentations also will be made by Mark Kownick and Jeff Kraus, running for one opening for a 2-year term on the village board.

In addition, presentations will be made by Cary Park District candidates Phil Stanko and Tom Emma, running for one open Cary Park District board seat.
