For Dist. 214: Dussling, Kreutzer, Petro

Voters in Northwest Suburban High School District 214 have three excellent candidates running for three seats. Veteran incumbent William J. Dussling of Arlington Heights has served since 1998 and has an exceptional grasp on its finances, its students’ needs and its role. So, too, does incumbent Elk Grove Village resident Alva Kreutzer, who has served since 1999 and was a veteran elementary school board member before that. Both are focused on an affordable, top-notch education and understand the pressures students face today. They should be joined by an articulate lawyer F. Daniel Petro, who has been active in scouts and sports and also has elementary school board experience. Candidate Audrey Collins, a retired Prospect Heights resident, is rightly focused on spending but does not seem well versed in the district’s challenges beyond that. A fifth candidate, Gloria Bowman, has not responded to repeated requests for comment on her candidacy.
