Deb Marak of Arlington HeightsWater droplets cover a beautiful water lily at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe last fall.
Jeff Farinosi of Vernon HillsA couple walks along the beach in Tangolunda Bay, Huatulco.
Ben Fuhrman of LibertyvilleRain droplets sit on a leaf after a summer storm last year.
Ken Mikeska of GurneeA beautiful sunrise on the beaches in Riviera Maya, Mexico
Brendan McGee of BataviaThis photo shows icicles hanging from a frozen tree in my backyard.
Milton Hoskins of HampshireThis swallowtail must like what the phlox has to offer since the butterfly is straddling a petal to get at it. I hope to see these both in my Hampshire yard again this year.
Bob Williams of HuntleyAs I was walking through Pleasant Valley nature preserve I saw this lone oak tree. Looking at the tall brown grass in front of the tree and tree it’s self, I had the feeling they were as eager as I was for Spring to get here.
Colleen Abrahamovich of NapervilleI took this last week at the Naperville Central vs. Wheaton North Regional playoff basketball game. During a pass, the ball flew by a Wheaton North cheerleader and I snapped the photo while the ball is completely covering her face/head — thus giving the illusion that her head... is a basketball!
Larry Pearlman of NapervilleI took this photo of a British Airways Boeing 747 and a Union Pacific ethanol train yesterday in Bensenville, Illinois. The approach for the runway at O’Hare goes right over the Union Pacific railroad tracks. What makes this appear more extreme is the use of a very large (100-400) zoom lens. This is a great spot for plane spotters and train watchers alike.
Larry Pearlman of NapervilleThis was taken in a government building in Toronto, Ontario. The piece of art has stainless steel words mounted on ladders. I liked the focus on the single word ‘pleasure’ with the rest of thewords blurred.
