‘Children of Eden’ musical at Hoffman Estates High School

Hoffman Estates High School presents “Children of Eden,” a musical written by Stephen Schwartz, the composer of “Wicked,” this weekend and next. “Children of Eden” is a look at the family dynamic, parents vs. children, brother vs. brother, filial love vs. romantic love. It is set in the framework of the book of Genesis in the Bible, with Act One focusing on the stories of Adam and Eve and Cain and Abel and their relationships with each other and their father, while Act Two focuses on Noah and his relationship with his son Japheth and his father. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. March 4,5, 11 and 12, and at 7 p.m. March 10 in the school’s auditorium, 1100 W. Higgins Road in Hoffman Estates. Reserved seat tickets are $10 for shows beginning at 7:30 p.m., and are $5 for general admission for the 7 p.m. show.
