Rep. Sente holds regional transportation update March 5

State Rep. Carol Sente (D-Vernon Hills) announced today that she will host a Regional Transportation Discussion on Saturday, March 5, at 9:45 a.m. at the Laschen Community Center, 294 Evergreen Drive in Vernon Hills. Representatives from the Illinois Department of Transportation and PACE Suburban Bus will update residents on current projects and future plans.

The Illinois Department of Transportation will update residents on projects that are currently being planned, developed and built within the 59th District. Residents will have the opportunity to ask questions about individual projects and find out what alternative routes are recommended during construction. Additionally, representatives from PACE will provide updates on recent service changes and routes available to suburban commuters.

Bus service is a hidden gem in our community, with permanent routes running throughout the region that more people should take advantage of, especially for short commutes and weekend travel in the area. One of my top priorities is to improve transportation options so that people are spending less time behind the wheel and more time enjoying our community, working or being with their families.

The meeting is open to the public and free to attend. For more information, or to RSVP, please contact my full-time constituent service office at (847) 478-9909.

The 59th District includes portions of 22 communities in Central Lake and Northern Cook Counties, including Buffalo Grove, Great Lakes, Green Oaks, Gurnee, Indian Creek, Knollwood, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Libertyville, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Mettawa, Mundelein, North Chicago, Northbrook, Park City, Prairie View, Riverwoods, Unincorporated Deerfield, Vernon Hills, Waukegan and Wheeling.
