Fremd’s PAVE Club promotes no texting while driving

Fremd High School’s PAVE Club (Positive Actions for Vikings Everyday), a student-organization that promotes helping students to make positive choices in their lives, recently took a stand against texting while driving.

In January, PAVE members set up tables outside the school’s cafeteria and encouraged students to sign a pledge to not text and drive.

The club also held a drawing and gave away an iPod, T-shirts, and other prizes as part of the campaign.

To be eligible for prizes, students read aloud a pledge and signed their pledge not to text and drive or ride in an automobile with a driver who is texting and driving.

Prizewinners were drawn during the Viking’s varsity boys and girls home basketball games against Barrington High School on Friday, Feb. 4.
