Local fitness pro creates workout DVD

• Geneva resident Leslie Grosshauser, a fitness professional for more than 25 years, has created a new workout DVD called “The SWAT Team Workout” with four members of the Kane County SWAT team.

Grosshauser, national director of Group Exercise for XSport Fitness, filmed the DVD last July. Members of the SWAT team and others featured in the video are residents of Geneva, St. Charles and Elburn.

The workout includes plyometrics, strength segments and core stability exercises, which encompass physical requirements of being a member of a SWAT team. The DVD can be purchased at LexyFit.com.

• Dr. Steven Louis of Hinsdale Orthopaedics is hosting a free seminar for patients to learn more about the direct anterior approach to hip replacement surgery at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, in the Red and Black Oak Rooms of Good Samaritan Hospital, 3815 Highland Ave., Downers Grove.
