Construction activity on the West Tower at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville is entering the final phase as the April opening draws closer.

The 175,000-square-foot facility will feature a Heart and Vascular Center that includes cardio diagnostics, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, a diabetes education center, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a congestive heart failure program and other comprehensive services. The tower includes all private patient rooms for adults. Current semi-private rooms will be converted to private rooms as well.

A series of grand opening activities are planned that will showcase the new facility to Advocate Condell associates, physicians, community leaders and the general public. Exact dates and times are yet to be finalized, but the events are scheduled for April 7-10.

A VIP reception will be held along with a drop-in buffet breakfast for key community leaders. Condell associates will be invited to an open house as will members of the local media. A special service will be held in the Nemmers Family Chapel to dedicate the new 1,200-square-foot sanctuary. The grand opening events will conclude with an open house for the general public.

Complete details about the events will be announced in the weeks leading to the opening.
