Drug possession gets Hanover Park man 8 years in prison
A Hanover Park man was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to heroin possession.
Fernando Bonilla Lemus Jr., 24, of the 6600 block of Peachtree Street, was arrested in June following a drug investigation by Schaumburg police.
He pleaded guilty this week and received credit for 36 days in custody. Additionally, the court ordered him to pay $2,815 in fines.
Streamwood and Hanover Park police assisted in the investigation, which began in May and involved undercover investigators buying drugs from Lemus on two occasions, police said in a statement released after Lemus was arrested June 3 in a Streamwood parking lot.
The drugs confiscated had an estimated street value of $27,000, authorities said.
