Dancing their way to the state finals

It is official; both the Wheaton Warrenville South High School and Wheaton North High School Dance teams have qualified for the Team Dance Illinois State Championships.

The WWSHS Tiger Dance Team finished first place in the AAA Pom category on Dec. 12 at the WWSHS Dance Competition. The WNHS Falcon Dance Team finished first in the Hip Hop category in November in Eureka.

Both dance teams will compete in the Team Dance Illinois State Championships in Peoria on March 6.

According to Tiffany Marconi, dance team coach at WWSHS, “we couldn't be more thrilled and are so proud of these young women for their accomplishments. We won the state title last year and we are ready to go and defend it.”

Community Unit School District 200 congratulates coaches Tiffany Marconi and Laura Angellilo from WWSHS and Melissa Pierceall from WNHS and all of the fabulous CUSD 200 dance team members.
