Your news: Mundelein students learn leadership
Thirty-five members of the Mundelein High School Future Business Leaders of America organization took part in the FBLA National Fall Leadership Conference in Des Moines, Iowa. While there, students attended seminars on subjects such as leadership, technology, communication and goal setting.
“It was great for members to learn things not typically taught within the school day and to reflect on what it is to be a leader,” said Chris Hoster, FBLA adviser. “The students were energized and inspired by the presenters.”
Students attending the conference included: Krina Adhikari, Dean Bekiaris, Ashley Blennerhassett, Megan Bockrath, Mary Breeden, Patrick Breeden, Zach Brown, Alexis Bumatay, Emma Chernoff, Stephanie Chin, Steven Chin, Erica Cuasay, Kyla Cygnus, Laura Deardorff, Anthony Doretti, Nicholas Doretti, Jassy Gonzalez, Nate Green, Bailey Hicks, Kathleen Hurley, Symone Jackson, Samantha Miller, Jessica Miyake, Ben Nicholson, Luke Nicholson, Andrea Paliani, Alexis Ramirez, Bryan Schwab, Michael Schwarzhaupt, Arielle Sison, Lauren Sison, Andrea Stoll, Casey Tangonan, Laniya Thomkins, and Mohini Verma. Other advisers in attendance were Michelle Sherwin and Amy Shipley.
“It was a great experience to learn new things and to meet new people,” Adhikari explained.
FBLA is the largest student business organization in the world. Members of the MHS organization operate the Mustang Nation Spirit Store, complete volunteerism projects and compete in academic events.
