Got talent? AID to host Telethon 2011

One of the biggest charity fundraising events in the fox valley, the Association for Individual Development's annual Telethon will be held on Feb. 19 at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove. This event raises money annually to help individuals with disabilities and mental illness served by AID as they work towards their goal of independence and community inclusion.

AID is now in the process of accepting sponsors, performers, and volunteers for this event. There are many ways one could get involved with this great event that benefits so many individuals in our communities across the Fox Valley.

Two hundred volunteers are needed just to answer the phones throughout the day. Interested parties may volunteer individually or as a group representing an organization or business. These are truly challenging times and we hope you will consider supporting our efforts by volunteering just a few hours of your time. Being a phone volunteer is a short and easy time commitment that is also vitally important to the success of Telethon 2011.

Got talent? They would love to have you participate in their event! Talent showcases run throughout the day featuring local dancers, singers, musicians and more. The telethon is broadcast live on TV and streamed online to hundreds of viewers. It's your golden opportunity to grab those few minutes of fame you so deserve!

Sponsorships are available and include a number of benefits including recognition throughout the telethon, acknowledgement in the AID newsletter and annual report. Sponsorships are the foundation of telethon and while they are excited to celebrate where they are at their 50th anniversary, it is where they are going that holds both the promises and the challenge for AID. Telethon sponsorships will help ensure that the best is yet to be for AID.
