Docents sought for Moraine Hills State Park
Volunteer docents for Moraine Hills State Park near McHenry are being sought. Docents are adults with some familiarity with the site who provide a welcoming presence in the Nature Center, answer questions about the park and share tips on enjoying the ecosystems, trails and activities at this site. Volunteers should be outgoing and willing to share their passion.
A minimum one-year commitment is asked. For an application and to set up an interview, call naturalist Stacy Iwanicki at (815) 344-1294. Volunteer applications are available at the Visitor Center and also at www.FriendsofMoraineHillsStatePark.org. Training is scheduled for Sundays, Jan. 16, 23 and 30. Moraine Hills State Park and McHenry Dam are south of McHenry on River Road between routes 120 and 176.
