Learn your risk for stroke, heart attack

The Centegra Wellness on the Move mobile unit will be on the road though December and January to provide vascular screenings to check for heart disease or risk of stroke.

The mobile tests will provide immediate preliminary results for tests including body mass index, ultrasound images of your carotid artery to detect plaque buildup, as well as an EKG. The exam takes about 30-minutes.

All results are confidential and follow-up reports completed by the Centegra Health System radiologists are mailed to you within one week so you can share the results with your physician.

• Thursday, Jan 6, Centegra Primary Care, Spring Grove

• Tuesday, Jan 11, Centegra Primary Care, McHenry

• Tuesday, Jan 18, American Community Bank, McHenry

• Thursday, Jan 20, Senior Services Associates, Inc., Crystal Lake

Donations needed: Family Alliance in Woodstock, which provides day care services to seniors with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or social isolation needs, is looking for donations to help fill its holiday wish list.

Items on the list includes everything from trivia books, to Nintendo Wii games to undergarments.
