Volunteer Center launches 2010 Annual Appeal

The Volunteer Center of NW Suburban Chicago (TVC) recently launched their 2010 Annual Appeal to raise funds for the agency, a major connector organization in the area. The campaign aims to raise $5,000 or more in donations, which will enable TVC to address the critical needs of local nonprofits through volunteerism.

Illinois currently ranks last in the nation in late payments to nonprofit organizations, and one effective way to make up for budget shortfalls is through volunteer engagement. The Volunteer Center addresses these needs by recruiting volunteers, training nonprofits on volunteer management, and consulting with leaders on how to better utilize volunteers in their organization. In order to continue delivering these important programs, TVC relies on outside donations from individuals, foundations and corporations.

The fundraising campaign will last through the New Year, ending on January 5th, 2011. As an added incentive, TVC Board President Tom Gaynor has agreed to jump out of a plane if the organization reaches their goal.

Anyone interested in donating can visit www.volunteerinfo.net or send a check directly to the organization. Donors can also get involved by calling The Volunteer Center at (847) 228-1320 to receive more information on how they can help with the campaign.
