Archdiocese honors local Catholic laity

The Archdiocese of Chicago on Friday announced several local winners of its Christifideles Award, which honors lay men and women for their dedication to the church and their ministries.

The winners include: David and Tina Jakubek, Transfiguration Church, Wauconda; Eugene and Sally Snarski, St. Anastasia, Waukegan; Marilyn and Suzanne Sink, St. Bede, Ingleside; Fred and Rosanne Bacaling, St. Dismas, Waukegan; Judy and John Cullen, St. James, Highwood; Barbara and James Haff, St. Francis de Sales, Lake Zurich; William Marcell, St. Gilbert, Grayslake; Robert and Kathleen Swieton, St. Joseph, Round Lake; Wally Bergen, St. Mary, Lake Forest; Allison Hertel, St. Mary of the Annunciation, Fremont Center; Gary Schiappacasse, St. Mary of Vernon, Indian Creek; Michael and Cindy Bruno, Our Lady of Humility, Zion; Frank Nickels, St. Patrick, Wadsworth; Reginald and Irene Krzeminski, St. Peter, Antioch; Paula McGuire, St. Peter, Volo; Bill and Betty Burns, Prince of Peace, Lake Villa; Anne-Marie O'Sullivan, St. Raphael the Archangel, Antioch; Timothy and Margo Rogers, Santa Maria del Popolo, Mundelein; and Elaine Enclade, St. Mary, Buffalo Grove.
