Cary-Grove Chamber donates to food pantry

Hundreds of local needy families who rely on the Cary-Grove Food Pantry for monthly groceries will now benefit from a $1,500 donation presented by the Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce from its annual golf outing.

The donation will go a long way toward feeding a large number of Cary and Fox River Grove area families who now use the pantry as a necessary resource for survival. The chamber donation will be used to buy food from the Northern Illinois Food Bank to help stock the pantry shelves. The pantry is able to purchase supplies at a fraction of the cost of normal retail prices through the food bank. The Cary-Grove Food Pantry is now feeding nearly 300 area families.
