Motorcyclist killed after crashing into tractor-trailer on I-90 near Hoffman Estates

A Rockford motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 90 in Hoffman Estates Tuesday evening.

The motorcyclist was identified as 28-year-old Mufeed B. Yasen by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

According to the Illinois State Police, the crash happened at about 6:20 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-90 near the Beverly Road overpass.

Yasen was pronounced dead at the scene. All eastbound lanes were closed for several hours, but have since reopened.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
