Scouting Elk Grove at Rolling Meadows

Elk Grove (6-2, 3-1) at Rolling Meadows (4-4, 2-2)

When: 7:30 p.m. today at Robert A. Hoese Athletic Field

Last week: Elk Grove lost to Prospect 42-41 (ot); Meadows d. Hersey 30-21

Outlook: This was viewed in the preseason as possibly the game of the year in the MSL East. While that's not the case it's still big with Elk Grove playing for a home playoff opener and Meadows playing for an eighth straight playoff berth. "It was a little difficult of a week but we're making it about the seniors," Elk Grove coach Brian Doll said of rebounding from last week. "Our kids are pretty resilient." Elk Grove QB Nick Meyer scored all 6 TDs on the ground last week and threw for 288 yards while Meadows senior QB Kevin Cwynar threw for 324 yards with 3 TDs to Artie Checchin and another to Scott Shewmon. "I really like their wide receivers and our kids know what they need to stop," Doll said. Meadows' 12-3 win last year was its sixth straight in a series it leads 19-18.
