Scouting Lake Forest at Mundelein

Lake Forest (4-2, 2-2) at Mundelein (0-6, 0-3)

When: 7:30 p.m., today

Last week: Lake Forest lost to Warren, 28-14; Mundelein lost to Grant, 21-16.

Skinny: Mundelein played creditably in its loss to Grant, as it tried spoiling the Bulldogs' homecoming, but the Mustangs couldn't stop Grant's option led by FB Steven Niewiedzial and backup QB Alex Villa. Now the Mustangs face a Lake Forest squad that will be out to snap a two-game losing. The Scouts have to consider this a must-win game, as they visit undefeated and unscored-on Vernon Hills next week before finishing the regular season at home against Lake Zurich (5-1). The Scouts would seem to have a good chance of securing an at-large playoff berth with 5 wins. They're led by RB Owen Williams (628 rushing yds., 9 TDs), QBs P.J. Carollo (556 passing yds.) and Jordan Beck (410 passing yds.) and WR Jacob Hellinga (15 receptions, 5 TDs). DB Connor Cavalaris has 4 interceptions, one of which he returned for a TD against Warren. ... Against Grant, for the second week in a row, Mundelein got a good game from RB Pablo Mata, who rushed for 75 yards on just 9 carries.
