Schaumburg dominant at Bartlett

Schaumburg's boys cross country team dominated the Bartlett Flyin' Hawk Invitational Saturday, placing five runners in the top 11 to finish with 32 points and win the team title at Sunrise Park.

Senior Travis Morrison won the event in 15:22.6, almost 10 seconds ahead of West Chicago's Gunnar Sterne (15:32.3).

"I felt real smooth and even," Morrison said. "I knew there was a kid for West Chicago that runs low 15 so I figured it would go out (in the first mile) in around 5 minutes and it did."

Evan Prizzy (15:33.2) was third for the Saxons, who also had Pat Swiech (eighth, 15:59.3), Tyler Anderson (ninth, 16:08.6) and Pat O'Connell (11th, 16:11.) contribute to the team victory.

Jacobs finished second as a team with 76 points. William Hennessy took fourth in 15:37.5 and Nick Ellingson was sixth in 15:50.0 for the Golden Eagles.

Sterne and Derrick Pietrobon (seventh, 15:43.6) helped West Chicago take third. Crystal Lake South finished fourth and Bartlett fifth.
