RMHS rolls out 'Haunted Homecoming' on Sunday

Rolling Meadows High School's Student Council is proud to announce a weeklong celebration of Homecoming activities Sept. 26-Oct. 1, with the theme, "Haunted Homecoming."

During the week, each day will feature a different dress-up theme. Activities and games will take place in the south cafeteria during lunch periods.

Each class will decorate its own Commons area with a spooky theme on Sunday, Sept. 26, from 3-7 p.m. to kick off the week of fun.

On Monday, Sept. 27, "Get Up and Go Day," students will roll out of bed and come to school in comfy, cotton pajamas.

Tuesday, Sept. 28, is "Class Colors Day" with special color designations for each class: frosh, blue; soph, red; juniors, green and seniors, senior shirts. Staff will wear college school colors and gear. The Seniors vs. Teachers football game will take place at 7 p.m.

Sept. 29, Wednesday, is "Cowboys and Cowgirls Day," and everyone will wear western apparel. Movie Night, featuring "Disturbia," will be held in the field house from 7:30-10 p.m. Admission is free and only available to current RMHS students. Bring a blanket and a pillow, but no outside refreshments!

On Thursday, Sept. 30, each class will be decked out in the following attire: freshmen-Disco, sophomores-Hippies, juniors-80s Workout World, and seniors-Tasteful Togas. Clothing must be worn under all costumes! The Homecoming Coronation Ceremony will take place at 9:52 a.m. in the gym. Kids' games and activities will be held in the parking lot from 6-7 p.m. From 7-9 p.m. the following events are scheduled in the stadium: the Homecoming Court Parade, Spirit Dance, Mini Mustangs, Fall Sports Recognition and a fireworks display. Free hot dogs and chips are available

to children middle school and younger, wearing Mustang colors of purple and gold. (There will be a $2 donation to WINGS for all others). There will be a raffle to win an iTouch.

Friday, Oct. 1, is Purple and Gold/Spirit Day with the pre-game pep rally in the gym at 1:45 p.m. The Homecoming varsity football game vs. Prospect High School starts at 7:30 p.m.

Homecoming Week will conclude on Saturday, Oct. 2, with the Homecoming Dance from 7:30-10:30 p.m. in the gymnasium. Tickets are $15 Sept. 23 and 24, $20 the week of Homecoming, and $25 at the door.
