Ramirez leads Mundelein to title at Prairie Ridge
Mundelein's boys soccer team likes Prairie Ridge's tournament.
For the fourth time in five years, the Mustangs won the tourney hosted by the Crystal Lake school.
Mundelein (7-3-3, 3-0) captured a pair of wins Saturday, beating the host school 5-3 behind 2 goals apiece from Javier Ramirez and Saul Figueroa, and shutting out McHenry 7-0 thanks to 3 goals from Ramirez and two from sophomore call-up Alejandro Terrazas.
Alex Nambo added a goal in both games for Mundelein. Against McHenry, Zach Guthrie also scored.
Lakes 2, Niles North 2: Tommy Langbien scored twice in the second half, and Will Hill made 8 saves in net for the Eagles (3-5-3) in the nonconference game.
Matt Whipple and Jonathan Stanley had assists for Lakes.
