Arlington Heightsbull; Burglars stole a GPS valued at $300 out of an unlocked 2007 Honda Odyssey in a driveway on the 600 block of South Belmont between 10 p.m. Aug. 22 and 6 a.m. Aug. 23.bull; Burglars stole a GPS unit, cell phone charger and cash out of an unlocked 2000 Honda Odyssey in a driveway on the 600 block of South Pine between 5 p.m. Aug. 22 and 8 a.m. Aug. 23. Value was estimated at $285.bull; Vandals spray painted graffiti with black paint on a brick garage at a house on the 300 block of South Stratford between noon Aug. 18 and 3 p.m. Aug. 24.bull; Vandals broke an antenna on a 2002 Ford on the 400 block of North Arlington Heights Road, between 3 and 5:15 p.m. Aug. 24. Damage was estimated at $15.bull; Laura A. Angelos, 33, of the 1600 block of Denise, Palatine, was arrested around 10 a.m. Aug. 24 at Burlington Coat Factory, 30 W. Rand Road, and charged with retail theft. She's accused of hiding merchandise valued at $493 in her purse and in her 2-year-old daughter's stroller. Her court date is Sept. 17.bull; Anna D. Zueva, 19, of the 100 block of Crescent Knoll, Libertyville, was arrested around 10:20 p.m. Aug. 24 in an apartment lot on the 4200 block of North Bloomington and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance after officers were called to the parking lot because Zueva was seen opening the doors of unlocked cars. Officers found 15 heroin capsules in her car. She was not charged with trespass to a motor vehicle because the victims did not wish to press charges. Her court date is Sept. 22.bull; Thieves stole a boys red and white 20-inch bike and a boys orange 20-inch bike in a driveway on the 1300 block of Best Drive between 8:15 and 10:30 p.m. Aug. 28. Value was estimated at $400.bull; Thieves stole a 2-foot diameter metal table with terra cotta top, a dog statue, cat statue, candle holder and planter with flowers off a patio on the 1500 block of North Windsor Drive between 12:01 a.m. Aug. 27 and 5 p.m. Aug. 28. Value was estimated at $245.bull; Vandals scratched every surface on a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria, a privately owned car designed as a police inceptor with law enforcement-style plates, in a driveway on the 2100 block of North Fernandez between 1 and 7 a.m. Aug. 26. Nothing appeared to be missing, but the offenders put six cigarette burn marks on the driver's seat and one on the headrest.bull; Burglars stole a black duffel bag with sweaters out of a 2005 Audi S4 in a condominium lot on the 100 block of South Vail Avenue between 11 p.m. Aug. 28 and 4:20 a.m. Aug. 29.bull; Two men attempted to burglarize an unlocked 2001 Ford Explorer in an apartment lot on the 600 block of West Rand Road around 1:20 a.m. Aug. 27. The female victim was sitting in her boyfriend's car when they saw the two offenders ride into the parking lot on bicycles. One offender stood lookout while the second man tried to open unlocked cars. The victim and her friend saw the man get into her SUV. The boyfriend confronted the burglar and grabbed him. The first offender took off on his bike. The offender in the SUV hit the boyfriend on the arm, possibly with a metal tool used to break car windows. The boyfriend let go and the offender ran from the vehicle and fled on his bicycle.Bartlettbull; A vandal hurled a rock that damaged the business sign at Superwash, 335 S. Prospect, Aug. 26. Swarbrick, 19, of the 900 block of Lakewood Drive, Barrington, Robert S. Hajek, 19, of the 1800 block of Burr Ridge Drive, Hoffman Estates, and Michael J. Plamann, 19, of the 600 block of East Main Street, Barrington, were arrested around 11:55 p.m. Aug. 26 at Plamann's home and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. Swarbrick also was charged with possession of marijuana. Their court date is Sept. 9. bull; Thieves stole a wallet containing $600 and several credit cards out of an employee's purse at Expert Cleaners, 530 N. Hough St., around 2:30 p.m. Aug. 23. One offender distracted the employee, asking her to mark clothing for alterations. The second offender took the wallet. They drove away in a white vehicle and used the credit cards at several stores. She's accused of approaching a 46-year-old woman sitting on the ground with friends, punching the woman in the face and walking off. He's accused of removing a drill bit from its packaging, hiding it in his pocket, paying for other items but leaving without paying for the drill bit valued at $34. bull; Two teenage boys stole a diaper bag valued at $200 off a package delivered around 4:45 p.m. Aug. 30 at a house on the 1800 block of South Lee Street. A neighbor saw them take the bag and quickly walk away.bull; Burglars pried the side door at four detached garages on the 1700 block of Illinois Street and 1700 block of Elm Street between 10 p.m. Aug. 29 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 30. Saberbein, 62, of the 300 block of North Salem Drive, Schaumburg, was arrested around 5:55 p.m. Aug. 27 at Nordstrom in Woodfield Shopping Center and charged with retail theft after she hid a dress valued at $248 in the sleeve of her jacket and a pair of earrings valued at $195 inside her shirt. She ran from the store but was followed by an employee and stopped by a mall security agent. Her court date is Sept. 30.bull; Thieves stole a designer purse with a cell phone, bank card, checkbook, keys, a silver locket and money from a customer at Macy's in Woodfield Shopping Center around 4:30 p.m. Aug. 26. She hung the purse on a sales rack while trying on a jacket and discovered the purse missing when she turned back. Value was estimated at $2,220.bull; Thieves stole two gold-colored concrete lion statues out of the front yard at a home on the 1000 block of Weathersfield Way between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 26 and 7 a.m. Aug. 27. Value was estimated at $500.bull; Burglars broke into a 2001 Toyota Camry in a business lot at 20 N. Martingale Road between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 27 and stole a radar detector valued at $250.bull; Thieves stole a purse valued at $508 out of a women's restroom stall at JCPenney in Woodfield Shopping Center around 6 p.m. Aug. 29. The victim hung it on a door hook and forgot to take it when she left the restroom.Wheelingbull; Carlos Figueroa-Jimenez, 27, last known address on the 19300 block of Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles, Fla., was arrested Aug. 25 and charged with felony theft (lottery scam). He's accused of having approached an elderly Buffalo Grove resident in a grocery store on the 500 block of West Dundee Road around 1:30 p.m. Aug. 6 and tricking the victim into giving him $8,000 in cash and $7,000 in jewelry. He told the victim he had a winning lottery ticket but could not cash it because he was not a citizen. After the victim gave him the jewelry and cash, he pretended to be sick. The victim went back into the store to get medicine for him, and Figueroa-Jimenez fled with the money and jewelry. His court date is Sept. 8.bull; Burglars stole money, a GPS unit and a radar detector out of an unlocked 2006 Toyota Tundra on the 1600 block of Queens Court between 10:10 and 10:24 p.m. Aug. 23. Value was estimated at $750.bull; Einat M. Kreimont, 23, of the 0-100 block of Southfield Drive, Vernon Hills, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. Aug. 24 on the 500 block of Pleasant Run Drive and charged with local ordinance possession of marijuana. Her court date is Sept. 10.bull; Burglars broke into a 2000 Mercury Villager on the 1700 block of Stonehedge Court between 9 p.m. Aug. 23 and 8:33 a.m. Aug. 24 and stole a GPS unit. Loss was estimated at $600.bull; Burglars broke into a 2007 Hyundai Sonata in a restaurant lot at 550 S. Milwaukee Ave. between 12:07 and 12:50 p.m. Aug. 24 and stole a laptop computer with case, mouse and cable. Loss was estimated at $2,425.bull; Burglars stole nine golf clubs and a green golf bag out of a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser on the 400 block of West Strong Avenue between 11 p.m. Aug. 24 and 6 a.m. Aug. 25. Value was estimated at $500.bull; Craig R. Weber, 18, of the 0-100 block of Patricia Lane, Prospect Heights, was arrested around 10:25 p.m. Aug. 21 on the 300 block of Scott and charged with local ordinance possession of marijuana. His court date is Sept. 10.bull; Thieves stole $200, a Mexican ID and three credit cards after the male victim left them wrapped in a rubber band near a goalie net while he played soccer on the 200 block of South Wolf Road, around 5:30 p.m. Aug. 21. The items may have been taken after he left the field because he forgot to pick them up and discovered them missing when he returned at 7:30 p.m.
