They tried to saw through the outlet pipe but failed. Damage was estimated at $120.bull; Vandals smashed the front passenger's-side window on a 2003 Toyota Corolla in an apartment lot on the 4200 block of North Bloomington Avenue between 8 p.m. Aug. 10 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 11.bull; Vandals shattered a glass table top inside a screened porch at a home on the 1000 block of South Chestnut Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Aug. 9. Belmont Ave., between 8 a.m. Aug. 10 and 10:15 a.m. Aug. 11, pried open the roof hatch, jumped down 10 feet to the kitchen floor, damaged a ceiling light and tiles, opened an unlocked candy machine, unlocked an east side exit door, opened a bathroom window 4 inches, and left through a south side door. Damage was estimated at $1,000. Khan also was charged with city ordinance prostitution. An undercover officer answered their ad on the backpage website. Adenekan, 19, of the 800 block of Linden Circle, Hoffman Estates, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at Haddam Place and Governors Lane and charged with obstructing a peace officer and unlawful use of a weapon/carrying or possessing a firearm. Officers investigating a burglary in the area, stopped him and three companions. Officers found a handgun in his pants pocket. His court date is Sept. 17.bull; Someone stole a $400 cell phone after the owner left it on a towel at the pool in Sea Scape Aquatic Center, 1300 Moon Lake Blvd., between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. Aug. 12.bull; Burglars stole items out of an unlocked 2007 Toyota Highlander on the 3600 block of Winston Drive and out of an unlocked 2002 Honda CR-V on the 3600 block of North Firestone Drive between 4 p.m. Aug. 15 and 7 a.m. Aug. 16. A pink bag from the Honda was found on top of a car in front of the home on Winston, and the items from the Toyota were found and returned by neighbors. bull; Someone took a $90 purple bag out of a 2010 Nissan Sentra on the 2400 block of North Barrington Road between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 15 and 1:30 p.m. Aug. 16.bull; Thieves stole a laptop computer and an eight-port switch out of a server room at a business on the 2800 block of Forbs Avenue, reported Aug. 11. Value was estimated at $2,063.Mount Prospectbull; Three men are seen on a security videotape stealing six backpacks and loading them with a portable DVD player and 70 DVDs at Walmart in the Mount Prospect Plaza, Rand and Central roads, around 3:40 a.m. Aug. 13 They left in an older model white car. Value was estimated at $1.040.bull; Mateusz Lapinski, 19, of the 1300 block of South Hunt Club Drive, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 4:55 a.m. Aug. 14 on the 1100 block of South Hunt Club Drive and charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. Court date is Aug. 30.bull; Cesar Calderon, 26, of the 1100 block of Boxwood Drive, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 1:20 a.m. Aug. 15 on the 1100 block of Boxwood Drive and charged with obstructing a peace officer and aggravated assault after he yelled at officers and raised his fists in a threatening way, police said. Officers had been called by the building owner because individuals routinely gather and drink in the parking lot. Calderon's court date is Sept. 28.bull; Burglars pried open a window at a gas station on the 1500 block of North River Road, around 4:55 a.m. Aug. 15 and stole money and cigarettes. Loss was estimated at $3,300. The offenders carried the money and cigarettes to the northeast corner of the lot next door on the 2000 block of Camp McDonald Road, dropping coins and packs of cigarettes on the way. They apparently left in a vehicle parked there.bull; Burglars stole money, a laptop computer and 22-carat gold jewelry out of a 2005 Acura TSX at a home on the 700 block of Windsor Drive between 8 p.m. Aug. 15 and 7 a.m. Aug. 16. Loss was estimated at $4,760.bull; Thieves stole a wallet out of a customer's purse at a store on the 1000 block of South Elmhurst Road, around 3 p.m. Aug. 16. The wallet was found later, but $315, debit card, bank card and driver's license were missing.bull; Thieves stole a $7,000 pond fountain belonging to the Brentwood Homeowners Association at the southeast corner of Wolf Road and Heritage Drive between Aug. 10 and 17. bull; Stacey M. Niebuhr, 52, of the 200 block of North Lee Street, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 9:05 p.m. Aug. 3 at the BP gas station, 1625 E. Euclid Ave., and charged with disorderly conduct, aggravated assault, resisting a peace officer and felony criminal damage to government property. Police said she began yelling and swearing at the clerks when told her dog was not allowed inside. She took a quarter out of a donation display on the counter and tried to purchase water with it. When one of the clerks told her the water cost more than a quarter, she pushed her way behind the counter and punched the cash register buttons. Officers arrived and tried to calm her, but she raised her fists at one of them. She struggled during the arrest and refused to walk to the squad car, so officers carried her, and she stood outside the car, kicked at the officers and kicked and damaged molding on a passenger's-side squad car door. Once at the jail, paramedics were called. Her court date is Sept. 20.bull; Burglars reached through a slightly open window on a 2004 Pontiac hatchback at a home on the 1300 block of Peachtree Lane between 9:30 p.m. Aug. 7 and 10 a.m. Aug. 8 and stole a $300 camera.bull; America Mendez-Penaloza, 31, of the 1000 block of Argyle, Bensenville, was arrested around 3:10 p.m. Aug. 7 and charged with retail theft from a store on the 1500 block of South Elmhurst Road. A woman saw the man holding the purse and he told her he found it. He hung it on the victim's driver's-side mirror and drove away in an older model white vehicle. The victim discovered the items missing later. Loss was estimated at $60.bull; Someone reached through an open window and stole $55 off the passenger's seat in a 2001 Kia Vallara taxi while the driver slept, between 1-2 p.m. Aug. 15 in a strip mall at 1615 N. Baldwin Road. bull; A $400 radar detector was taken out of an unlocked 2006 Porsche Cayenne on the 1300 block of East Evergreen Drive between 11 p.m. Aug. 15 and 6:45 a.m. Aug. 16.bull; Burglars stole a GPS valued at $399 out of a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon and several golf tees and a golf tool out of a 2008 Mercury Milan at a home on the 1300 block of North Evergreen Drive between 4:30 p.m. Aug. 15 and 6:15 a.m. Aug. 16. bull; Frances T. Herring, 38, of the 800 block of East Lilly Lane, Palatine, was arrested around 10:15 p.m. Aug. 16 at Jewel-Osco, 423 E. Dundee Road, and charged with retail theft. Kachmar, 20, of the 100 block of Bluewater Lane, Vernon Hills, was arrested around 7:10 p.m. Aug. 10 at Macy's in Woodfield Shopping Center and charged with retail theft. Her court date is Sept. 10.bull; Burglars pried a patio door at a home on the 0-100 block of Ascot Circle between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Aug. 8 and stole a laptop computer valued at $1,000, a 25-year service pin, two gold necklaces, gold necklace with diamond droplet, pearl necklace, gold bracelet, gold bracelet with multiple diamonds, silver necklace with blue stone pendant, three gold rings, and several pieces of costume jewelry.bull; Burglars broke into a 2002 Dodge Stratus on the 1100 block of Westover Lane between 7 p.m. Aug. 10 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 11 and stole the in-dash stereo valued at $400.bull; Katresa L. Pace, 27, of the 3800 block of North 16th Street, Milwaukee, Wis., was arrested around 7:20 p.m. Aug. 10 on East Bank Drive and charged with prostitution after an undercover officer answered her website ad. Her court date is Sept. 23.bull; Michelle L. Goldbach, 32, of the 600 block of Greenfield Court, Bartlett, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at the police department, 1000 W. Schaumburg Road, and charged with theft of lost or mislaid property. Police say she removed $280 from a wallet that a Schaumburg woman left on a counter at a store on the 2600 block of Schaumburg Road, then turned the wallet into the customer service desk. After the victim discovered the money missing, a store videotape showed Goldbach picking up the wallet and taking it to the service desk, police said. Her court date is Sept. 15.bull; Thieves stole a blue bicycle and an older black bicycle from a patio on the 1900 block of Evening Song Court between 6 and 7 p.m. Aug. 6.
