Wildlife center hosts comedy night:The Fox Valley Wildlife Center will host a fundraising night at Zanies Comedy Club at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5 at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. The night will feature Comedy Central regular Butch Bradley. Tickets are $25 per person. The Fox Valley Wildlife Center will receive 100 percent of the ticket sal, es which will benefit the animals in their care. A two-drink minimum is required and all attendees must be 21 and older. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling Andrea at (630) 377-2847.Community Yard sale starts Thursday:Shop for great bargains at the Larkin Center's ninth annual Community Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5 and Friday, Aug. 6 at 1212 Larkin Ave., Elgin. The agency is in need of small household items, kitchenware, furniture, sporting goods, bikes and knickknacks. Donated items can be dropped off on the front porch at 1212 Larkin Ave. starting today through the morning of Thursday, Aug. 5. Yard sale proceeds will provide recreational activities for adult program clients. The cost is $165 per person and includes lunch, 18 holes of golf, cart rental, dinner, games and prizes. Corporate and individual golfer packages are available. The hole-in-one prize is a 2010 Jeep.
