Schaumburg man charged with sex abuse

Schaumburg resident Jura Bhasherat, 27, has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse for giving a massage to an 11-year-old female, officials said. He appeared in bond court in Rolling Meadows on Saturday.

Bhasherat, who lives in the 800 block of Westfield Lane, was in his bedroom with the girl around 1 a.m. on July 15, when he asked her for a massage, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Robin Murphy. Bhasherat previously had been watching movies and playing video games with his younger sister and the girl, who was a friend of the sister's, Murphy said.

After the girl told him she did not know how to give massages, Bhasherat said he would show her and began massaging parts of her body, including her stomach, chest and backside, Murphy said. About a week later, the girl told her mom. Bhasherat was arrested on July 29 and ordered held on a $75,000 bond Saturday. His next court date is Aug. 3 in Rolling Meadows.

Bhasherat, who graduated from Hoffman Estates High School and recently moved back to the area after living in the DeKalb area for the last decade, has previously been charged with criminal trespassing and retail theft, officials said.
