District 79 makes changes:The Fremont Elementary District 79 school board has agreed to fill two top administrative posts. Kara Coglianese will become the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, while Michael Tanner will become the director of business services, the board decided Monday. Both replace administrators who took jobs in other districts.Blood drive on Friday:The Mundelein Fire Department will host a blood drive from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at the main station, 1000 N. Midlothian Road. Organizers hope to collect 100 units of blood. Reservations are welcome at lsbrighten.org or (877) 543-3768, but walk-ins are welcome.Free matinee movie showings:Movie theaters from McHenry, Antioch, Libertyville and Zion are each offering a free showing once a week of popular children's movies starting at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 1, the Zion Dunes Theater, 3398 Sheridan Road, will feature "Happy Feat". The week of July 4, "Monsters vs. Aliens" will be shown Monday at the McHenry Downtown Theater, 1204 N. Green St.; Tuesday at the Antioch Downtown Theater at 378 Lake St.; Wednesday at the Liberty Theater, 708 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville; and Thursday at the Zion theater.
