Yorkville golf outing raises money for scholarships
The Waubonsee Community College Foundation raised more than $25,000 at its 23rd annual golf outing held May 26 at Whitetail Ridge Golf Club in Yorkville. This money will be used to fund scholarships for Waubonsee students.
The money was raised by the event's 107 golfers and 41 sponsors. Participants enjoyed a day filled with a round of golf, catered lunch and dinner, skill contests and a raffle.
Winning the best ball scramble in the first flight was the team from Gehrke Technology, made up of Greg Gehrke, Albert Gehrke and Robin Donegan.
The first-place foursome in the second flight was the team from Castle Bank, which included Richard "Shorty" Dickson, Stan Free, Jack Magnason and Joel Ottoson.
