Hoffman Estates team takes 3rd at auto skills competition

Hoffman Estates High School senior Automotive Technology students Atif Hussain and Phil Giacone, took home a third-place trophy in the statewide Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills Competition.

At the state-level competition, two-person school teams competed in a 90-minute hands-on troubleshooting event, where students diagnose and repair various problems in a 2010 Mercury Milan automobile.

Hussain and Giacone each earned complete tool sets and scholarship opportunities. They have been enrolled in the automotive technology program for all four years of high school and plan to continue their education in the field after graduating.
