McHenry 6, Hoffman Estates 1: The Hawks saw their season come to an end at Cary-Grove, where McHenry scored 4 runs in the third inning to claim a 5-0 lead and was never threatened.

Hoffman Estates committed 6 errors. Starter Mike Kirivanta took the loss but only allowed 1 earned run over 6 innings with 4 strikeouts.

The Hawks got their run in the sixth inning as Kevin Grudzinski produced an RBI single.

McHenry meets the host Trojans on Saturday for the regional championship.
