Damage is estimated at $1,800.bull; Thieves stole $4,300 from a shoebox under a bed in a Buffalo Grove home between April 17 and May 17. There were no signs of forced entry and the envelope contained two $100 bills with numerous pieces of paper between to simulate the bulk and weight of the money.Des Plainesbull; A man in his 30s attempted to steal merchandise valued at $360 from Jewel, 819 Elmhurst Road, around 6:05 p.m. May 15. The store alarm sounded when he pushed the shopping cart out the north exit door. He ran away when an employee approached him and asked for a receipt.bull; Vandals walked on wet concrete and wrote graffiti in it on the 0-100 block of South Mount Prospect Road between 4 and 6 p.m. May 10. The shoe impressions indicated a child and woman wearing high heels. Dushanna, 26, of the 900 block of Mohawk Drive, Elgin, was arrested around 4:40 p.m. May 17 on the 1800 block of North Goodwin and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia (pipe).
