Bartlett train death ruled a suicide
The Cook County medical examiner's office has determined the death of a 41-year-old Streamwood woman struck by a Metra train in Bartlett on Monday to be a suicide.
An autopsy Tuesday found multiple injuries from the train impact to be the cause of death and determined suicide to be the manner.
The woman was struck about 10:40 a.m. Monday by a Chicago-bound train between the Bartlett and Hanover Park Metra stations, causing a one-hour delay on Metra's Milwaukee West line.
Paramedics took her to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. She was planned to be moved to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge when she died at St. Alexius.
