Vacancy on MHS board:Mundelein High School board member Robert Smith has quit the panel, and a replacement could be named Tuesday, officials said Friday. Smith quit in late April for personal reasons, officials said. The board will meet in closed session at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss a replacement. A nominee could be appointed afterward in open session.Lincolnshire to honor citizens:The Lincolnshire Community Association is accepting nominations for the annual Citizen of the Year Award. People can nominate a person who has made a significant contribution to Lincolnshire. Nominees should be residents who have volunteered their time in one or more community organizations during the past year and have contributed to the overall good of the village without monetary gain. The program is a favorite of current members and is of general interest for those interested in local history. Participants will display and chat about their valued items. The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. at the Libertyville Township offices, 359 Merrill Court, Libertyville.Electronics collection:The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County is hosting a residential electronics collection from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at the Navy Exchange parking lot at Burkey Mall, 3452 Green Bay Road, Great Lakes, just north Green Bay and Buckley roads. Accepted items are personal computers, monitors, computer drives, keyboards, modems, scanners, printers, PDA organizers, cell and other phones, televisions, stereos, MP3, CD and DVD players, VCR's, cameras, video games, fax machines, shredders, microwaves and small household appliances. There is no charge for the service. The event is for Lake County residents only. Commercial materials will not be accepted.
