Maine East principal leaving to lead Oak Park school

Steven Isoye, the principal of Maine East High School in Park Ridge, has been named the new superintendent of Oak Park and River Forest High School in Oak Park.

"I am excited to become part of this high school and community and excited about the work we can do and the successes we can accomplish together," Isoye said in a news release issued by the Oak Park school.

Isoye, who has been at Maine East three years, last month was named Illinois High School Principal of the Year by the Illinois Principals Association. Before that, he was principal of Warren Township High School in Gurnee. In 1998 while at Warren, he was named Teacher of the Year by the Illinois State Board of Education. He's also on the board of the Illinois Math and Science Academy.
