Patrick Anderson, 29, who has addresses in Waukegan and McHenry, is charged with felony disorderly conduct for telling officials he was beaten and Tasered by a corrections officer. Sheriff's officials accused Anderson of filing a false police report when they said an investigation determined the allegation was false. Waukegan attorney Micheal Nerheim said Anderson appeared in bond court Friday morning and was released on the $5,000 bond he has already posted on felony retail theft and drug charges. Anderson is due to appear in court April 20, Nerheim said.Wauconda Arbor Day sale:The village of Wauconda is inviting residents to the Arbor Day tree and shrub sale May 1, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Acres Group parking lot, at 610 W. Liberty, Wauconda. Residents can chose from evergreen, ornamental and shade trees and other shrubs. The Wauconda Public Works Department will provide free tree delivery to Wauconda residents, and residents who purchase a tree or shrub are welcome to free compost. Residents with questions can call the Wauconda area Chamber of Commerce (847) 526-5580.Learn self-defense:The Mundelein Police Department is hosting a free self-defense class for women 18 and over. Seventeen-year-olds with parental permission also can attend. The class will be Tuesdays, 6 to 8 p.m., beginning April 20 and ending May 11 at the Mundelein police station, 221 North Lake St. Students should wear loose fitting workout clothes.
