'Dancing with Cougar Stars' rescheduled for March 16
Due to the passing of former Conant High School faculty member Larry Schroeder, "Dancing with the Cougar Stars" has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, in the school's Perry Gymnasium, 700 E. Cougar Trail in Hoffman Estates.
The annual event, developed by Conant High School's All-Class Councils, features 25 senior student-teacher teams performing dance routines choreographed by a member of the school's varsity Orchesis and/or varsity Pompon squad - all to promote school spirit, community togetherness, and a safe and enjoyable evening of fun.
Performances will be judged by Principal Tim Cannon, Athletic Director John Kane, and Art Teacher Jamie Peterson, with first-, second-, and third-place awards decided by a combination of votes from the judges and the audience.
Judges also will select dance teams to be honored for Best Originality, Best Costume and Best Teamwork.
The event is open to the public; tickets are $6 at the door or during lunch hours in the school's cafeteria.
During intermission, audience members will be treated to performances by both the varsity Orchesis and varsity Charrelles.
This year, a limited number of "Dancing with the Cougar Stars" T-shirts will be available for purchase at the event for $6 each.
