Cary parks, library on the hunt for teen bands

The Cary Park District and the Cary Area Public Library seek local teen bands to compete in the Cary Area Teen Battle of the Bands competition. Hosted cooperatively by the two organizations, The Battle of the Bands will take place on the afternoon of Saturday, June 5, at the Lions Park Rotary Bandshell.

The competition gives local musicians a showcase. The winning band is decided by a panel of judges and will move on to compete in the regional competition held in August. The winner of the regional competition will move on to compete in the state competition in Springfield.

Spots are limited. Interested bands must submit a completed entry form to the Cary Park District Community Center beginning Monday, Feb. 1. Entry forms are available online at carypark.com or at the Community Center, 255 Briargate Road, Cary.
